With the Covid situation across the nation, and particularly in Sydney, creating uncertainty, this year’s Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo (AWRE) has been postponed to 24-25 August 2022.

AWRE represents the national waste and recycling community, which brings in exhibitors and visitors predominantly from a large number of different states across Australia.

The extension of the lockdowns in NSW, Victoria, and most recently, South Australia, has largely impacted interstate travel, in turn adversely making the delivery of a nationwide event too problematic.

“The team have been working hard to plan and deliver AWRE 2021 with new initiatives, so it is extremely disheartening to not run AWRE this year,” said Bill Hare, AWRE’s commercial director.

“With much reviewing and replanning in the background over the past few weeks, the ambiguity of the coming months has led to the outcome, and we will focus all efforts into delivering a stronger AWRE 2022 instead.”

The AWRE will be back for its usual face-to-face event on 24-25 August 2022 and will be held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.
