Ranpak, a global leader for environmentally-sustainable paper-based packaging solutions for e-commerce and industrial supply chains, will be demonstrating its automated end-of-line (EOL) packaging solutions during its first ever attendance at CeMAT 2024.

To be highlighted at the show will be the company’s Cut’it! EVO height-reduction machine, and the Flap’it! small parcel packaging machine system.

The Ranpak’s Cut’it! EVO and Flap’it! are designed to ensure materials are packed using the smallest amount of volume, while minimising void and void fill material use.

They will present ways of effective nesting, packing with fewer touchpoints, and showcase how faster packing can help reduce the environmental footprint of logistics.

Visitors will see how a reduction in protective packaging and packaging SKUs can be achieved even while producing highly visually appealing, strong, tamper evident, and easy opening boxes.

Ranpak’s Cut’it! EVO solution automatically reduces the height of cartons to match their highest point of filling and then glues a lid securely in place.

According to Ranpak, automating this process will deliver unrivalled ROI by enabling labour savings, flow optimisation, an enhanced unboxing experience, shipping cost reduction, reduced material usage, and improved stock management.

In addition, the modular expansion to Cut’it! EVO is the multi-lid upgrade, which allows up to four distinct lids to be applied on one single packaging line. This is especially powerful for 3PL partners accommodating multiple brands on the same line.

Ranpak’s ergonomic Flap’it! system is a highly effective packaging solution that automates the packing of small products – like books, smartphones and accessories, games, spare-parts, and other small B2B and B2C electronics.

E-commerce and logistics operations can benefit from outstanding product protection as Flap’it!-produced boxes significantly reduce damage during transport and ensure fewer product returns thanks to integrated cushioning bumpers at box corners.

Ranpak will also showcase its game-changing digital tools that elevate the effectiveness of the integration and automated packaging machines.

Its offering includes the Ranpak Precube’it! Software, which uses historical site order data to simulate machine utilisation and box fill rates for future scenarios. It consolidates and optimises the range of box sizes on site, reducing the amount of corrugated material required by choosing the right design and size boxes for each parcel. It can also be utilised to reduce the number of split shipments.

Ranpak Connect is also included in the offering, which works in conjunction with Cut’it! EVO to provide a detailed daily overview of machine utilisation and performance of parameters, including uptime and downtime root causes. An integrated camera supports performance analyses and identifies training and maintenance needs before escalation is required.

“We are delighted to be able to share how Ranpak’s next-generation of automation solutions optimise productivity, while using 100 per cent recyclable paper packaging during our first time at CeMAT,” said Bryan Boatner, managing director of automation at Ranpak.

“Our EOL packaging automation and consultative approach can condense time to ROI to within one to three years, which is unique in the industry.”

Ranpak experts will be available to discuss how end-of-line automation can help unlock unrivalled ROI and provide on-demand live demonstrations of the portfolio on booth #509.

CeMAT will be held on 23-25 July at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.
