Melbourne-based distiller, Brunswick Aces, has launched its third distilled creation, Diamonds blend, which also marks the reveal of a new bottle and post-Covid business refocus.

This latest release from the moderation focused distillery is citrus forward and available in 40 per cent gin and zero per cent sapiir options. It includes botanical notes of desert lime, finger lime, mandarin, sage, and angelica root.

Brunswick Aces co-founder and distiller Dr Cameron Hunt said: “We’re huge fans of citrus at Brunswick Aces, and one of our best-selling cocktails in the bar is our citrus heavy ‘The Brunswick’.

“Off the back of the cocktail’s popularity and data on our customers’ preferences, it was a no-brainer for us to create this citrus focused blend for them to enjoy at home.”

Diamonds combines fresh aromatics of a range of citrus fruits, blended and balanced with notes of sage, juniper and angelica root.

“It’s a complex blend with lots of character, and the perfect addition to our family. Enjoy as a classic drink, gin or sapiir, mixed with tonic or soda, and a slice of citrus garnish,” Hunt said.

Bottle innovation

The distiller is also launching a revolutionary new bottle, which has a measuring jigger built into the lid. The innovative design provides customers a fool proof way to measure 15ml, 30ml, 45ml and 60ml when creating drinks.

The lid has been designed to encourage correct use of spirits and non-alcoholic spirits at home, assisting drinkers with their moderation by providing the simple solution of accurately measuring each pour.

Brand director Stuart Henshall said how to make a gin and tonic was one of the most searched questions on the internet, and the lid was the simplest way to help customers.

“By removing the potential for lacklustre, imbalanced drinks caused by free pouring, we could help our customers elevate their drink making skills at home,” Henshall said.

Post-Covid refocus

The new variety’s release also marks a refocus for the Brunswick Aces team post-Covid, with the business returning to growing its core range with on and off prem customers, international growth for the Brunswick Aces brand, and elevating the customer experience at the Brunswick Aces bar, Australia’s first non-alcoholic cocktail bar.

The brand is now present internationally in New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, UK, Europe, Middle East, US, and Canada, with expansion plans set for the Asia and MENA markets through 2022.

Henshall said the business will be focusing on growing the profile of its imported non-alcoholic partner products in premium venues nationwide. It represents Swedish brand Gnista and British brand Wilfred’s.

“Premium venue customers deserve more than cheap synthetic spirits that can be found in a supermarket. A quality venue deserves a quality range of products to serve to their discerning customers, so we’ve partnered with some of the world’s best producers to bring next generation non-alcoholic options to Australia,” Henshall said.

The company’s ecommerce website will also be restructured, stripping back from offering more than 200 non-alcoholic options to its core brand. The rest of the offering and its wholesale business will be handled by sister brand Killjoy Drinks.

Diamonds blend will be launching with a 5+1 deal across all Brunswick Aces supplier platforms including Kaddy, Paramount, Brands on Parade (Tasmania), No & Lo (QLD), and direct through Brunswick Aces.

The 40 per cent ABV gin will retail at $74.95, and 0 per cent ABV sapiir will retail at $49.95, available from the Brunswick Aces shop in Brunswick, VIC from 22 April and rolling out through all good bottle shops throughout May.
