Sydney's Percept Brand Design won a competitive pitch to redesign the packaging for Coopers Premium Lager and Premium Light beers.

The beverage company decided on a new look after earning pourage rights at the Australian Open.

The two lagers, along with Coopers Original Pale Ale, will be the main beers sold at the event in January.

They have been repackaged in 355ml green glass bottles with clean, contemporary labels, cartons, and cluster packs, and are expected to be on shelves through most Australian liquor outlets this month.

After assessing the existing packaging and competitor landscape, Percept created a new design that elevates the Coopers signature, giving it hero status.

The signature is underlined by a metallic foil swash and is tied back into the brand family by the familiar crosshatch pattern detail which appears on other products from Coopers Brewery.

The new brand-led label, is clean and sophisticated in style and now rivals some of the iconic European lager brands, according to Percept.

The redesign follows the revamp of Coopers Clear low carb dry beer last year, which was relaunched in new blue and silver packaging, emphasising the beer’s freshness, sessionability, and low-carb credentials.
