A desire to align creativity with manufacturing processes propelled two packaging veterans to launch their own business.

If you asked Iain Blair and Grant Davies whether innovation and manufacturing can walk hand in hand, they would say it’s an uneasy pairing at times.

This is especially the case in design and NPD projects, where time and money are lost as a result of this common mismatch.

Blair, one of the two founders of North Melbourne agency Birdstone, describes it as “the cost of compromise”.

“There are significant opportunities to streamline the process for all stakeholders while still delivering outstanding creative solutions,” Blair says.

And the creation of Birdstone reflects his and Davies’ skill in creating those opportunities.
