Beverage company Lion asked Sydney-based brand agency Barker Brand Partnerships to refresh its XXXX Summer Bright Lager alongside the release of a new mango flavour.

With the aim of recruiting a new generation of beer drinkers, the result is a contemporary look which includes a breaking wave depicted in beach-inspired stripes and colours of the Australian beach.

Creative strategy director at the agency, Johnny Barker, said the visual identity reflected Australia as young and modern, with a “clean and bold colour palette”.

“The visual world of Summer Bright also features silhouettes of iconic Australian beach scenes which includes surfboards resting on Pandanus trees, which are commonly found scattered along our eastern coastline, friends socialising under a beach umbrella with an esky of beer, and the recognisable wooden posts that provide a guide to the entry to the beach.”

The range is available in bottles and cans Australia-wide, and on tap in Queensland.
