Secondary packaging systems company Cama Australia has helped a coffee capsules manufacturer boost its flexibility and output through a newly installed line.

Cama supplied the private label capsules manufacturer, iCapsulate, with a monoblock unit called the Cama IF296 which can form carton boxes and place top-loading capsules into boxes and closing boxes.

It also set the company up with a wrap-around case-packer which can load boxes into corrugated SRP cases.

The line has been installed at iCapsulate's facilities in Blacktown, NSW, where it produces capsules, pods and roasted coffee beans.

iCapsulate has a capacity of 1.3 million capsules, soon to increase to two million capsules per day, and a roasting capacity of 10 tonnes per day.

iCapsulate MD Kane Bodiam said Cama's secondary packaging machinery offered the flexibility and ease to change and adapt formats at a minimal cost.

“It's a huge benefit, especially for a business who is contract manufacturing,” he said.

“We found the interface to be very user-friendly, and servicing is basic and inexpensive for a machine of such quality.

“There is no need to keep extensive parts, while the consumable parts that need replacement last a long time and are very durable anyway."

The project with Cama has given iCapsulate the capacity to produce another format using the same machinery due to the success achieved with the current format.
