Fibre King, established in 1926, lays claim to being Australia's longest-running packaging machinery supplier. With a longstanding presence at the AUSPACK/APPEX event spanning 36 years, the company expects this year's exhibition to surpass expectations and be the best one yet.

The company says its commitment to excellence is underscored by the introduction of new innovative machinery solutions, some of which will be on show. It will also be unveiling an entirely new product line, set to be revealed during the event.

What will you see on the stand?

Fibre King will be showcasing its new ‘Little Pal’ Palletiser: a compact, collaborative robot that has the lifting capacity to handle a full carton of beverages but also the reach to place them on the outer corners of an Australian Standard Pallet.

Oryx Automation, a crate handling brand will also be featured at APPEX. Oryx has been working with growers, agribusiness and wash plant operators since 2006 and helping them automate their crate handling procedures. The range includes single RPC erectors, palletisers, depalletisers, sorting equipment, conveyors and can integrate stretch wrapping equipment.

The core range of Fibre King end of line packaging machinery, that caters for the food, beverage, meat, dairy, FMCG, personal care and pharmaceutical industries,  will also be featured. The company has developed 1000s of solutions for production facilities across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, US, Canada, Middle East and Europe. The range includes case packers, palletisers, de-palletisers, case and tray handling equipment, robotic integration and conveying systems. In addition to these solutions, it offers full turnkey line packages and efficiently project manage all aspects, seamlessly incorporating third-party equipment.

Food & Drink Business

A national network for young grape and wine professionals has been launched, set to foster the next generation of winemakers, viticulturists, cellar door staff, wine judges and other roles in Australia’s wine sector.

A new bill was introduced to Parliament on 19 November, which offers a framework for regulating the sale or importation of organic goods in Australia, and stronger opportunities for exporting organic products.

The Senate Economics Committee has rejected the Food Donations Bill that proposed a tax offset for companies donating excess food to food relief agencies rather than dumping it. While the bill had the potential to deliver the equivalent of 100 million meals to food relief organisations, the committee said it had “serious concerns” including the bill’s “generous” tax concessions. Food relief agencies and social welfare organisations have questioned the committee’s decision to reject the bill outright rather than make recommendations for amendments.
