For companies engaged in packaging and labelling for food and beverage products, one of the must-read publications of the year is Australia's Top 100 Food & Drink Companies report.

The report is published annually by PKN's stablemate Food & Drink Business in collaboration with data provider IBISWorld, and is sponsored by APPMA member Foodmach, an automation, robotics and integration specialist.

The food and beverage manufacturing sector generates in excess of $110 billion dollars in annual revenue, and is a crucial cog in the Australian economy. For packaging and label suppliers the sector offers ongoing, albeit evolving, opportunities for growth, with the report highlighting crucial trends among the major players.

The report lists the Top 100 food and beverage manufacturers in Australia, as ranked by revenue, and tracks the performance of each company over the past 12 months. In addition, IBISWorld industry analysis outlines the key economic forces and market movements that are affecting food and drink firms.

In advance of the much-anticipated release of this year’s report, publisher of PKN and Food & Drink Business, Lindy Hughson, spoke to senior industry analyst at IBISWorld Tom Youl about what to expect in this year’s report.

Youl outlined what this year's report will cover, the key trends that have impacted the major players, and hinted at some jostling for position in the line-up. Take a look and listen:
