As part of its investment in supporting the dissemination of news covering industry trends and technology, APPMA has partnered with the International Packaging Press Organisation (IPPO).

During Interpack, APPMA joined other major global packaging industry organisations, APEAL, UCIMA and PMMI, to sponsor the IPPO dinner party held at Brauerei Schumacher in Düsseldorf on 7 May.

At the event, Lindy Hughson, publisher of PKN Packaging News and Food & Drink Business (and content producer for APPMA’s Machinery Matters) was announced as the new president of IPPO. In her acceptance speech, Hughson said that a focus in her tenure will be strengthening partnerships between IPPO – whose membership includes top packaging journalists from 30 countries – and the leading packaging associations that run important trade shows and events around the world. She said she was delighted to welcome APPMA as a new supporter of IPPO, especially in light of promoting the upcoming trade show APPEX, taking place in Melbourne in March 2024.

Michael Moran, APPMA CEO, said the association was pleased to have entered into this partnership with IPPO alongside like-minded associations like APEAL (the Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging); PMMI (the US Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute); and UCIMA (Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers' Association). He said APPMA looks forward to working with IPPO to raise awareness of APPEX in the global arena.
