At the Print21 + PKN LIVE forum on 9 November in Melbourne, brand owners and printers will collaborate to present case studies to show the game-changing ability of digital print for packaging. Have you booked your ticket yet?
The LIVE half-day forum, under the banner Amplify & Engage: What digitally printed packaging can do for brands, and how printers can profit, will see a stellar cast of brand owners, along with forward-thinking printers, present real-life case studies.
Speakers include the team behind the Hungry Jack’s Uno campaign, the founder and design lead at Little Bang Brewing Co, and the founder of Mingle Seasoning, and Healthy Food Crew. All four have seen measurable sales success through the implementation of digitally printed packaging to amplify their message and engage with their target customers.
Michael Dossor, MD of Result Group, will headline a presentation on the Hungry Jack’s Uno campaign, arguably the biggest intelligent packaging project rolled out in Australia. Described as a triumph for smart packaging, digital and flexo printing, the integrated campaign pulled together print from Detpak and MCC, with variable data. Dossor will be joined by Daniel Cross from DetPak, Andrew Healy from TLC, and Ben Testa from MCC for a panel session to unpack how this market-leading campaign came together.
Jason Brown, MD of ePac, supplier of digitally printed pouches and roll stock solutions, is joining forces with Brian Nasr of Healthy Food Crew, a brand owner and private label contract manufacturer, to tell the story of how they’re collaborating to help start-ups and SMEs get their product to shelf in high quality printed pouches, with the added flexibility of small run printing and variability across SKUs withing those runs.
Jordyn Evans, founder of Mingle Seasoning, a start-up health seasoning business now listed in national supermarkets, will join Matt Ellis, MD of print business Luminar, to tell the story of how digitally printed packaging boosted the brand’s shelf presence and secured listings in major supermarket chains, as well as independent stores across the country.
Ryan Davidson, founder of Little Bang Brewing Co, along with design lead Matt O’Connor, will describe how using variable digital printing on the company’s range of beer cans enabled it to ‘have a salesman in each store’, and helped drive sales from a few thousand to hundreds of thousands of cans. Little Bang partnered with Peacock Bros. for its label printing, in what became a collaborative project.
Also speaking at the event will be print business owners who have moved into digitally printed packaging, who will be sharing what they can do for brands and what level of engagement they are achieving.
Finally, an expert industry panel will discuss the challenges and opportunities in packaging print, including sustainability, supply and legislation, with plenty of opportunity for questions and answers.
At the end of the day, attendees are invited to a drinks networking hour. The afternoon event is designed to give maximum value and benefit in the shortest time, which in fact is what the new digital packaging print market is itself doing.
The event, which will take place from 12-5.30pm on 9 November at State Library Victoria, Conversation Quarter, in Melbourne.has been well supported by industry, with Currie Group and HP stepping up as Platinum sponsors, Ball & Doggett and EFI as the Gold sponsors and Jet Technologies the Silver sponsor.
