Jamie Weller is the new managing director at industry supplier Kissel + Wolf, with long-term incumbent Greig Wood taking a new part-time role as general manager of metal decoration.

Weller has been with Kissel + Wolf since 2021, and will now lead a drive into increased participation in the packaging sector for the company. He said, “It is an exciting time for Kissel + Wolf. We have an experienced senior management team, the backing of our parent company in Germany, and a range of innovative hardware and consumables across multiple sectors. Packaging is a key growth area, for us and for the whole industry.”

Working closely with Weller, and as part of the newly formed Kissel + Wolf leadership team, Jon Field will assume the new role of executive director of Sales & Service – Digital, while Vanessa King continues in the role of CFO.

Wood, who has been with the business for the past 33 years, will now run the metal decoration operation, with K+W supplying an A-list of metal printers for cans and closures, including Visy, Orora, Interpack and Jamestrong. Weller said, “Greig has accomplished an outstanding feat in bringing the company to its current position, and I am honoured to be stepping into his role.”

Kissel + Wolf is a multi-national, family-owned company based in Germany, with subsidiaries in North America, SE Asia, the sub-continent, and here, with the Melbourne-located business looking after Australia and New Zealand.

Weller said, “We are seeing many of our clients, in different areas, experiencing growth. The screen printing industry for instance is doing very well, thanks to the onshoring that took place during Covid, with that work remaining since then.”

K+W supplies the UK-manufactured Adelco range of screen printers. Adelco also supplies the dryers that K+W supplies with its Kornit range of DTG print systems.

“In packaging we have just installed a new Hanway corrugated print system, to Pakko, and have another one going in at a different customer,” said Weller, adding, “Water-based inks will grow in market share, as brands demand sustainability credentials from their suppliers.”

On the changes at the top, Jon Field commented, "Working with Greig was a privilege, and I have always had the utmost confidence in Jamie Weller. I wish him every success in his new role." Vanessa King added, “I am delighted to be part of the leadership team, excited about the future growth, and I wish Jamie all the very best”.

Food & Drink Business

Melbourne-based producer, Pure Dairy, has appointed Andrew Wellington as its new chief commercial officer, ready to support the company as it makes moves both domestically and internationally.

The largest shareholder, director, and managing director of health and wellness company Jatcorp, Zhan (Jack) Wang has resigned, effective immediately. He remains the largest shareholder. Sunny Jian Xin Liang continues as CEO.

In recent years, there has been growing recognition that food and agriculture should be viewed not solely as economic sectors but as pillars of national resilience and security. The combined pressures of geopolitical tensions, natural disasters, tech vulnerabilities, and climate change are driving broader recognition of sovereign risk in food production and supply chains, placing it alongside traditional domains of national defence and security.
