Following on from a successful return to Pack Expo in September 2023, APPMA will continue building on the APPMA/PMMI association partnership when its representatives attend Pack Expo Chicago in early November, and exhibit on the Partners Pavilion.

PMMI (the US-based Packaging Machinery Manufacturing Institute) is the owner of all Pack Expo shows, with the Chicago show one of its flagship events. This year it’s expected to attract over 45,000 visitors and 2600 exhibitors showcasing their processing and packaging solutions.

“Participation at such events provides APPMA the opportunity to continue engaging with and benefiting from learnings and experiences of our international alliance partners who will be joining us at the event,” said APPMA CEO Michael Moran.

Such partners include PMMI, UCIMA (the association for Italian manufacturers of automatic packing and packaging machinery) and Automate UK – a newly formed amalgamation of PPMA (Processing & Packaging Machinery Association), BARA (the British Automation & Robot Association), and UKIVA (the UK Industrial Vision Association).

“APPMA’s focus will also be on supporting and promoting our members and the Australian industry on the international stage while keeping abreast of the latest processing and packaging equipment, innovations and products developed to advance the industry in the areas of sustainability and productivity,” Moran said.

APPMA/PMMI initiatives already in place include the co-sponsoring of research reports that provide members with access to global and regional data not readily available within the Australian market. APPMA is looking to expand on similar research opportunities.

“Pack Expo Chicago also provides the ideal platform to reinforce the success of APPEX 2024 while promoting and branding APPEX 2027 as the premium, must-attend Australasian show,” Moran said.

APPMA looks forward to catching up with members exhibiting or members visiting the show. Please visit Denni Egan and Michael Moran at booth N-5903.

[APPMA’s content partner PKN will also be visiting the show. For Australian companies visiting, or exhibiting on your own or partner stands, if you would like PKN to visit your stand, contact managing editor Lindy Hughson on lindyhughson@yaffa.com.au to set up a meeting time.]

The largest shareholder, director, and managing director of health and wellness company Jatcorp, Zhan (Jack) Wang has resigned, effective immediately. He remains the largest shareholder. Sunny Jian Xin Liang continues as CEO.

In recent years, there has been growing recognition that food and agriculture should be viewed not solely as economic sectors but as pillars of national resilience and security. The combined pressures of geopolitical tensions, natural disasters, tech vulnerabilities, and climate change are driving broader recognition of sovereign risk in food production and supply chains, placing it alongside traditional domains of national defence and security. MEQ CEO, Remo Carbone, writes.

The a2 Milk Company says it’s expecting mid to high single-digit revenue growth in FY25, updating its previous guidance of mid single-digit. EBITDA as a percentage of revenue is expected to be broadly in line with FY24. The company has also introduced a dividend policy.
