Specialty coffee brand ST. ALi is bolstering its production capacity with the addition of a second Goglio G21 vertical form fill seal (VFFS) coffee packaging machine supplied by Jet Technologies. The move is aimed at supporting the company's growth and meeting increasing demand across its retail and wholesale channels.
Known for blending tradition with innovation, ST. ALi has established itself as a leader in Australia’s specialty coffee market. In 2024, the company expanded into mainstream retail by launching its premium coffee range in Coles supermarkets, marking a significant milestone in its growth strategy.
Lucy Ward, head of Operations and Sourcing at ST. ALi, commented on the role of the new machine in meeting customer expectations. “This addition allows us to scale our packaged coffee output while maintaining the exceptional quality our customers expect, whether they purchase our coffee in-store or online,” she said.
The installation of the second Goglio G21 comes four years after the company first invested in the technology. Together, the machines enable ST. ALi to double its packaging capacity, with each unit capable of producing 20 coffee bags per minute. This increased efficiency helps streamline production while ensuring consistent product quality.
Jet Technologies, ST. ALi’s long-standing supplier, provides the company with flexible coffee packaging laminates and degassing valves that preserve the freshness of its products. The partnership also supports ST. ALi’s shift towards sustainable packaging.
The brand has adopted Jet Technologies’ ShieldCycle solution, which replaces traditional non-recyclable aluminium layers with a recyclable polyolefin-based plastic structure, aligning with its commitment to environmental responsibility.
Daniel Malki, general manager at Jet Technologies, commended ST. ALi’s innovative approach. “ST. ALi’s adaptability and forward-thinking strategy continue to set them apart in a competitive market. We’re proud to support their growth as they expand their operations and embrace sustainable practices,” he said.
As ST. ALi scales its operations and diversifies its offerings, the company remains committed to delivering high-quality coffee while advancing its sustainability goals. The adoption of recyclable packaging solutions underscores its focus on reducing environmental impact and meeting the evolving expectations of conscious consumers.
