Global packaging solutions provider Multivac has appointed Philipp Losinger as new vice-president of subsidiary operations for Africa, the Arab Emirates and Oceania.

Since January 2021, Philipp Losinger has been working as vice-president of subsidiary operations in the corporate sales and marketing division at Multivac, responsible for the management and strategic development of the group's subsidiaries in Africa, the Arab Emirates and Oceania.

Losinger has many years of professional management experience in the international sales of machines and equipment, including within the food industry. Most recently, he was responsible for managing the worldwide key accounts at Rational Int. AG.

Multivac is a global provider of packaging solutions for food products of all types, life science, and healthcare products, as well as industrial items.

The company's portfolio comprises a wide range of packaging technologies, as well as automation solutions, labellers, and quality control systems. The product range is rounded off with solutions upstream of the packaging process in the areas of portioning and processing, as well as bakery technology. 

“The vice-presidents of subsidiary operations essentially coordinate the interactions between our subsidiaries and Multivac Group headquarters,” explains Dr Tobias Richter, executive vice-president, corporate sales & marketing, Multivac. 

“And they work with the local managing directors to achieve strategic development, which is tailored to the particular market situation. This also includes our business with third-party products and consumable materials.“

The management of the sales and service subsidiaries within the Multivac Group is divided into five regions worldwide.

In addition to Losinger, there are four other vice-president of subsidiary operations responsible for their particular regions:

  • Dr Nico Habmann (Europe);
  • Peder Rejmers (Asia, Northern Europe);
  • Gregor Thomalla (Eastern Europe, CIS); and
  • Kai Trapp (North, Central and South America, Southern Europe).

In Australia, Multivac is a member of the Australian Packaging & Processing Machinery Association.

Select Harvests managing director, David Surveyor, said the company’s $1.5 million net profit after tax (NPAT) for FY24, represents more than a $116 million turnaround from FY23, with an operating cash flow of $21.3 million being a 545.5 per cent increase on FY23.

Maggie Beer Holdings chair, Susan Thomas, told shareholders at this week’s AGM the board acknowledged the company must focus on earnings growth, capitalise on its “incredible” brand equity, and provide “proof points, not promises” to win back investor confidence after a year in which the company lost its CEO, CFO, and reported a $28.2 million loss.

Australian wine has received another international accolade, after a high-performing year for the industry. The 2022 Giaconda Estate Vineyard Chardonnay secured second place in US-based wine publication Vinous' Top 100 Wines of 2024.
