Wine Industry Services (WIS), an established machinery supplier and service agent for wine and beverage companies – including distilleries, breweries, and wineries – in Australia and New Zealand, is guiding manufacturers in the transition from manual to automated bottling, labelling and packaging.

Based in South Australia, the company brings more than 25 years of experience in new and used machinery sales, spare parts and servicing, and a range of project management and machine installation solutions for the beverage industry.

John Camilleri established the company in 1998 through "innovation, tenacity and a passion for the industry".

Today, Simon Camilleri, managing director, continues the WIS philosophy where people matter, and long-term relationships are built on trust and respect. He also says that industry innovation continues to be at the heart of the business.

“At WIS, our goal has always been to merge tradition with cutting-edge technology, ensuring processing lines can thrive for generations to come,” said Camilleri.

“Our strength is our extensive experience and knowledge in the use and maintenance of complete bottling line systems or individual machines”.

WIS has a strong focus aimed at providing reliable customer service to the small and large needs of existing and new customers in the bottling and packaging industries.

It is the sole agent of premiere Italian manufacturer GAI in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Thailand and the Pacific.

According to WIS, GAI is a "perfect partner" as it also prides itself on the manufacture of equipment with the "highest quality standards" – whether to suit requirements of 500 or 24,000 bottles per hour.

GAI machines are also 100 per cent manufactured in-house, which gives incredible security in terms of spare parts and service.

“I am very proud of our relationship with GAI, as well as many other valued suppliers. These machines are designed not just to do the job, but to do it better – minimising waste and maximising quality. We stand by our equipment for the lifetime of operation,” Camilleri added.

WIS offers experienced mechanical and electrical technicians for machine breakdown or service and provide sales consultancy for single machines to turnkey lines. Full training is also included with every installation to provide support to machine operators in getting the best from their equipment.

The company understands the significant investment that accompanies the purchase and installation of beverage bottling, labelling and packaging and offer ongoing preventative maintenance programs to ensure customers get the maximum efficiency and productivity from the equipment.

“We’re constantly innovating. The future of winemaking is sustainable, efficient, and scalable, and we’re leading that charge,” said Camilleri.

WIS is family business that prides itself on providing the highest level of service in the industry. The entire team are solution driven and dedicated to providing the best experience possible.

With hundreds of machine installations across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region, WIS is looking to the future to identify new markets and new products.

Camilleri is excited about the future of WIS and the sector as a whole.

“The growth of non-alcoholic beverages as well as the growth of micro-breweries and distilleries is enormously exciting to me. Moving from manual to automated bottling, labelling and packaging can enormously improve output, efficiency and quality. The sophistication of the smaller capacity machines today is incredible,” he concluded.
