The latest print issue of Machinery Matters, APPMA's regular supplement published in partnership with PKN and Food & Drink Business, is on its way in the mail, and also available in digital format.

Despite a rocky start to the year with ongoing Covid challenges, optimism reigns supreme for the APPMA and the organisers of its flagship show, AUSPACK.

In the Chairman's Message, Mark Dingley adopts a positive outlook. He expresses confidence that government and industry will continue to explore, develop and evolve Covid-safe processes and solutions required to help address the current unpredictability of employee availability and the resulting implications with regards to supply chain and customer servicing. And he talks of the anticipation that's building for AUSPACK and the adjacent events taking place during Packaging & Processing Week, all of which will be run according to Covid-safe protocols.

In the APPMA News section we hear about 18 new members that have joined the association's fold, and we find out about the expanded 2022 Awards of Excellence programme, which includes three exciting new categories.

Member News this edition includes covers product launches from ABB, Datalase (Result Group), Proseal, SMC, SICK and Multivac.

In Trends & Tech we learn how automation is driving quality and efficiency for food manufacturers

And our Case Study this edition covers Fibre King's turnkey end of line system with cobot integration for Nestle's Nescafe coffee pouches.
