Bericap runs four major R&D centers in Germany, France, Spain and Turkey, each of which specialises in certain fields of closure technology. Little wonder then that it keeps moving the goal post for the ideal closure.
Bericap developed the pull-up telescopic spout for motor oil, the push-pull sports closure and the inner ring pull for edible oil. It was the first company to develop liner-less closures with DoubleSeal.
At this year's interpack, Bericap is showing off the results of new thinking in closures for hot filling. These days, the closure has to answer six needs: customer-friendly handling, cost saving by reduction of weight, reduction of carbon footprints, perfect product safety and protecting the contents inside against product piracy, and satisfying the high technical demands of governments and authorities.
Bericap's new 33mm closure system (inclusive of the bottleneck) for hot filling results in a weight saving of approx. 40% compaored with the 38mm system. The well-known DoubleSeal System of the closure enables a threaded neck thickness of only 1.5 mm to be implemented, as this system prevents the threaded neck to taken an oval shape during hot filling.
If a 38mm closure size is preferred, Bericap offers a lighter closure variant. This also permits the use of a threaded neck of only 1.5mm thickness, which contributes to its significant wieght saving.
Bericap offers push-pull sports closures whose flow volume is bigger than average, increasing the consumer's tasting experience. Moreover, an aluminium foil is not needed, so the closure is easier for the consumer to use. Push-pull closures for hot filling into 28mm or 38mm are also available.
