Bayer turns 150 in 2013. A huge amount of Bayer's Science for a Better Life has been packed into its century and a half. And Hulsbosch was given the job of packaging all that innovation, research and development into a gift of appreciation for the suppliers, business and government players who have supported its endeavours.
The result is a handcrafted box that tells the Bayer brand story, demystifies the business’ diverse areas of operation in health care, nutrition and high-tech materials, and outlines its focus on community and customers.
The campaign also celebrates staff achievements to its 1200 employees in Australia and New Zealand, and shows off what has made Bayer stand out during its 85 year local history.
The Little Box of Wonder has been designed as a specimen box. It contains an engaging booklet of 15 Bayer facts accompanying a selection of 'specimens' that are allegories for its milestones. Individually, these represent Bayer’s different sectors and achievements. Together, they create a tapestry of Bayer's complex and diverse operations.
Belinda Hubball, design director, Hulsbosch – Communication by Design said, “This brief was a real opportunity for us to do something a little different. We had a lot of fun coming up with something for Bayer that helped capture the scope of their business and celebrates their global success over the past 150 years, and indeed the business’ local successes.”
“It’s been an absolute pleasure working with the Hulsbosch team on this important project,” said Bayer’s Lynette Ghanem, manager of brand and external communications.
“Bayer has operated locally since 1925 starting as a small dye factory in Wuppertal, Germany in 1863. There are 150 years of discoveries in healthcare, agriculture and high tech materials that we are celebrating. This great tradition of innovation is our commitment to the future, and Hulsbosch has made this come alive.”
