From 1 July, Craig Salkeld will take up the role of managing director of Tetra Pak Oceania. Michael Zacka, currently president and chief executive officer of Tetra Pak US and Canada, will become vice president of the new South Asia, East Asia and Oceania cluster. He will be based in Singapore. 

Zacka grew up in rural Queensland and joined Tetra Pak in 1995. He served as sales and marketing director for Tetra Pak Australia's operations then held chief executive officer positions with Tetra Pak in Vietnam and Taiwan. Zacka worked at Tetra Pak's global headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland until 2010, when took up the head role at the company's North American operations. As global vice president of marketing and product management, he oversaw marketing strategies for the 165 markets in which Tetra Pak operates.

Tetra Pak's operations in Oceania will now be headed up by Craig Salkeld, who will continue to be based in Sydney. He is currently sales director for Tetra Pak Oceania. Salkeld joined Tetra Pak in 1988 and has worked in sales and marketing roles in Australia and the Middle East. He is well known to packaging customers across Australia and New Zealand.

Salkeld said, "I come to this role as the export of liquid dairy products from Oceania to Asia gathers pace. The organisational changes at Tetra Pak link Oceania to Asia in a more fulsome way, allowing us to work with our customers to leverage these opportunities." 

Salkeld replaces Noel Ayre, who will leave the company on 30 June. Ayre has been managing director of Tetra Pak Oceania since 2007. He joined Tetra Pak in Sydney in 1986, and has held positions in business development, general management, communications, environmental affairs and marketing across Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, and the Philippines.

The Victorian government has invested $160,000 to support the sustainability and profitability of the state’s wine industry, matched by $240,000 from Wine Australia. The funds will help Wine Victoria to provide the wine industry with the knowledge, tools and resources needed to improve practices and outcomes.

Australian spirits producers had an outstanding showing at the 2025 International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) in London, with top scoring producers including 30 Knots Spirits, Australian Distilling Co., Ester Distilling, Mt. Uncle Distillery, Nine Circles Distillery, and Turner Stillhouse.
