The APPMA Scholarship is awarded annually and allows a packaging student to complete The Diploma of Packaging Technology with no fees. The diploma is an internationally recognised qualification that will prepare students to take responsibility for packaging operations at any level through the supply chain. The qualification is comprehensive, its course covering the principles of packaging, packaging materials and packaging processes.

The scholarship is backed by the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) and the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP). These bodies have been at the forefront of packaging training and education in Australasia for generations. They have taken on the responsibility of helping packaging professionals, from packaging technologists to international packaging business leaders, determine the paths of their careers, as well as a host of people in associated disciplines - sales and marketing, purchasing, production and environment.

Food & Drink Business

With the rising popularity of ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages in Australia, innovation is the key to breaking into the market. Reality TV personality, Aesha Scott, has partnered with Melbourne-based craft brewery, Moon Dog, to jump on this trend, with the launch of Drop Alcoholic Coconut Water & Vodka.

Plant-based protein production company, Australian Plant Proteins (APP), has been acquired by My Co, the investment vehicle for the Paule Family Office, which focuses on FABtech (Food, Agri & Bio) start-ups. APP was the first company in Australia to develop and commercialise a plant protein isolate powder.

Fonterra Co-operative Group has appointed Elizabeth (Liz) Coutts as chair-elect of Mainland Group, the proposed divestment entity of Fonterra’s global consumer business. This announcement follows the selection of René Dedoncker as CEO-elect and Paul Victor as CFO-elect in February.
