Packaging solutions company Amcor has been recognised for its strong commitment to sustainability with an ‘AA’ rating in the MSCI Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) rating.

The rating evaluates companies' performance on a range of environmental, social, and governance factors and is considered an important indicator of corporate responsibility and sustainability. Amcor says gaining its 'AA' rating confirms its leadership position in responsible packaging solutions and its unwavering commitment to environmental, social, and corporate governance topics.

Products such as Ambfibre demonstrate Amcor's commitment to ESG

The MSCI report highlights Amcor's strong sustainability performance, specifically recognising its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase clean energy procurement, and accelerate the use of recycled content in its products. These initiatives have been driven by what Amcor says is its focus on circular economy solutions as one of the key priorities of its sustainability strategy.

David Clark, VP Sustainability at Amcor, said, “We're extremely proud to receive MSCI’s prestigious ‘AA’ rating for the fifth consecutive year, which is a testament to Amcor's ability to deliver more sustainable solutions. Our efforts to ensure our products retain the highest efficiency and safety standards and to collaborate on introducing cutting-edge waste management infrastructure have been instrumental in achieving this rating.

“While we are pleased with this recognition, we will continue to work tirelessly on ESG. We are determined to continue leading the industry by example, pursuing measures that significantly reduce our environmental impact and paving the way towards a more sustainable future.”

MSCI ESG research provides MSCI ESG ratings on global public, and a few private, companies on a scale of AAA to CCC, according to exposure to industry-specific ESG risks and the ability to manage those risks relative to peers.
