With a vision to provide the best service to customers, Kuka Australia has moved to the new location, which now has a much larger space for operations, and comes with a fully equipped Kuka Application Centre.

The grand opening of the application centre was attended by customers, partners and integrators, along with product experts and management from Kuka regional headquarters and company headquarters in Germany.

Kuka Australia also launched the LBR iisy cobot family to the ANZ market at this event, with product managers on hand to discuss features and benefits, as well as market intelligence and trends.

Said to be highly versatile, intuitive to operate, and reliable in contact with humans, the LBR iisy is a cobot fit for all production areas.

The LBR iisy combines the know-how of industrial automation with the flexibility and simplicity of an intelligent tool, paired with the speed of a traditional industrial robot.

“The cobot is impressive not only with its low weight, its incomparably high speed, the compact design and the integrated sensors, but above all, because of its straightforward commissioning, which makes the LBR iisy a flexible assistant in the production environment,” the company said.

According to Kuka, it is ideally suited to a wide range of tasks in fields of application and in industries where precision, speed and dexterity are particularly important. It can be used to load and unload machines, for pick-and-place and handling tasks, as well as for packaging and testing.

Kuka says the LBR iisy stands out due to its intuitive operating features, which ensure that it can be put to use quickly and productively without any prior knowledge.

The cobot also uses the iiQKA.OS operating system, making it easy to install, configure and program.

Promising to deliver simplicity and ease of use, tasks can be taught really easily by means of manual guidance, and thanks to the smart teach pendant – smartPAD pro – any additional programming tasks are as easy as using a smartphone.

An optional pre-installed and pre-configured gripper is also available, which helps to makes the cobot even easier to use.
