The PIDA Domestic & Household Packaging Design recognises organisations that have designed innovative packaging materials and packaging for domestic and household items, toys, stationery, gifts, clothing, garden equipment, decorating and pets.

Innovative functional design focused on ease of use (especially ease of dispensing), with sustainability factors also coming into play with a focus on recyclable material and reusable containers.

Two High Commendations were awarded to EzyLug + Coconut Oil by Melrose and Caps & Closures; and Zero Triple Strike Garden Weedkiller Concentrate by Yates.

The Bronze Award went to Green Action Dishwashing Liquid 500ml by TrendPac; while the Silver Award went to Whistler - Avian Intelligence Birdfood Range for Fibrecycle by Zipform Packaging.

And, picking up the second Gold Award win of the night for koor, was entrepreneur Jean-Francois Roiron. The koor innovation also won in the Food Packaging Design category.

About the Gold winner:

For this category koor’s unique design elevates reuse and refill principles, minimise single plastic usage and creates a more sustainable solution.

The judges said, "This start-up has been recognised at the 2024 PIDA awards with two gold awards and we look forward to seeing this company go from strength to strength."

The winners of the 62nd annual Australian Export Awards were announced in Canberra yesterday, featuring three winners from the food sector – including dessert manufacturer Frosty Boy Global, in the Agribusiness, Food and Beverages category.

Mondelēz International has appointed Toby Smith as President Japan, Australia and New Zealand, with the incumbent, Darren O’Brien, appointed Global Chief Corporate and Government Affairs officer.

New Zealand oat milk start-ups, Otis and All Good, have merged to form a new plant based business – Good & Humble – dedicated to championing locally grown oat milk and expanding sustainable beverage options globally.
