Improving manufacturing efficiencies through technology and education will be a core focus of the solutions and equipment Matthews Australasia displays at APPEX 2024.
CEO Mark Dingley said, “At the inaugural APPEX, Matthews has a very exciting line-up planned, encompassing state-of-the-art solutions and industry-wide collaborations. We’ll be introducing a range of new technologies and innovations that have never been on show before in Australia, as well as hosting the new Retailer Engagement Hub [REH], which will see the Australian Food & Grocery Council’s Trading Partner Forum [TPF] partnering with us on the Matthews stand.”
“Matthews has been working hard with industry associations and grocery retailers over four decades towards facilitating a smooth supply chain that delivers on our company purpose, which is to enable our manufacturing customers to provide their consumers with products safely and efficiently. The REH is an exciting initiative that will benefit all APPEX visitors, and we are proud that the AFGC has chosen to partner with us and recognises Matthews as trusted advisors within the industry.”
Each of the three REH days has a theme:
· Tuesday 12 March: Understanding Retailers’ Supply Chains
· Wednesday 13 March: 2D Barcode Day
· Thursday 14 March: Current & Future Packaging Trends
Ten 15-minute sessions will run each day from 10:30am to mid-afternoon, with some speakers coming from Woolworths Group, Coles, Metcash, GS1, AFGC and FreshChain Systems.
AFGC deputy CEO Samantha Blake said, “The Retailer Engagement Hub provides a wonderful opportunity to share the TPF’s collective work in developing industry standards that support the industry and help improve delivery compliance.”
REH presenter Andrew Steele, director Retail, Food, Beverage & Primary Industries with GS1 Australia, said, “GS1 Australia is looking forward to participating at the Matthews-AFGC Retailer Engagement Hub during APPEX and speaking alongside other industry experts on topics including supply chain, labelling and coding.”
Dingley said Matthews had several key launches planned throughout APPEX.
“One is an exciting new education program that we are developing with the major retailers to unlock further value from our existing Barcode Learning Centres.
“We also have three new, world-leading technology launches, which we will be demonstrating alongside our existing intelligent product ID and traceability hardware and software solutions.”
Visitors can expect to see Matthews showcasing the latest technologies in coding and labelling solutions that will drive improved reliability and reduce the cost of ownership to its customers’ production lines.
