Woolworths has introduced 60 new products, in convenient packaging, on shelves around the country this week, as more Aussies seek recipes packed with vegetables and that are easy to prepare.

The company said recent Google data revealed Australians searches increased by 120 per cent in April 2020 compared to the same period last year, and developed the new Australia-made product range to combine chef-inspired recipes with tasty ingredients and easy to prepare.

The packaging selected is in line with Woolworths' existing fresh and chilled food packaging range, with recyclable plastic clear trays sealed with transparent lidding films, and microwaveable clear plastic soup containers that are also recyclable.

Woolworths' new & Veg range aims to help consumers increase their vegetable intake with 20 per cent more vegetables. It includes products such as Beef Mince with Carrot, Sauteed Onion, Celery and Tomato, as well as Beef Meatballs with Carrot, Celery, Tomato & Caramelised Red Onion.

New vegetarian soups will also be in store with the 3 Serves range including three serves of vegetables. Varieties include Rich Beetroot, Rich Carrot and Pea & Broccoli.

Woolworths has also launched six stir fry kits, as well as a roast range, traybakes and slow cooked meats.

“With Australians spending more time at home than ever before, households are looking for new, convenient and delicious ways to feed the family without compromising on taste or freshness,” said Woolworths director of fresh food Paul Harker.

“This is our biggest launch of products since Christmas and we’ve made sure each one is full of flavour and easy to prepare. We hope this range will provide a little helping hand when it comes to creating nutritious meals for loved ones.

“So whether you’re looking for inspiration for a mid-week meal that feeds the whole family, a beautiful dish to get that restaurant feeling at home, or a winter-warming centrepiece for your Sunday roast, the new range from Woolworths has made eating fresh easy - no matter the size of your household.”

The new products will roll out in Woolworths stores nationwide starting from this week.
