Antares Vision Group, a global provider of traceability solutions, has joined Result Group as the new technology partner for all of its traceability project activity. The first collaboration project is the newly launched Uno 3 intelligent packaging campaign for Hungry Jacks.
For the third year in a row, Result Group has partnered with Hungry Jack’s as a technical provider and manufacturer of the micro labels for Hungry Jack’s Uno intelligent packaging campaign.
Overall, the technology delivery is similar to prior years, with one significant exception – the adoption of the new traceability solution, provided by Antares Vision, and which enabled expanded possibilities and enhanced interaction with customers, via interoperability and data management.
“From this year and any years going forward from now, we are working with our Antares Vision for traceability, data management authenticity, and most importantly, consumer engagement,” Michael Dossor, group general manager at Result Group, told PKN.
“Collaboration with a large global company such as Antares, a pioneer in supply chain traceability solutions and providing a wide range of software, helped us increase customer engagement for the Hungry Jack’s campaign, and provided more streamlined and real-time consumer interaction.
“This enabled us to deliver more options with consumer gameplay on the label game card, making it better than before, and with more prize options than previous years, and the overall Prizes Pool for this year increased to $140 million. We started with Uno 1, then Uno 2, and this year, we just made it bigger.”
As in previous years, Result Group produced mini cards utilising ground-breaking software, and innovative digital printing technology for the game cards themselves, as well as the Herma 500 Label Applicator, which are applied on drink cups and fries’ scoops packaging for consumers packaging gamification.
The material selected for the labels gave the game pieces a similar look and feel to actual Uno cards, and was easy for the consumer to remove and play the instant win game.
The label layers peeled off easily, leaving the proper label layer behind, and the labels/tickets include elements to ensure customer comprehension on the winning/non-winning prizes, way to redeem, and importantly, the ability to mitigate fraudulent claims.
The production of the label components involves both conventional flexographic and digital printing presses, and then a specialised converting system to bring the game piece together.
The latter enabled mass customisation of the cards via digital technology, allowing elements such as text and graphics to be changed from one printed card to the next without stopping or slowing down the printing process.
This is all made possible with the Antares Diamind platform, formally launched at the recent Interpack trade show, where PKN interviewed Dossor and Simon Jones from Antares.
“As a starting point, we are thrilled to be working on the largest of campaigns with Antares Vision and using the new Diamind platform,” explained Dossor.
“With previous years’ expertise and the abilities we’ve built year-after-year, we were able to produce the largest campaign with the minimum manufacturing and printing/labelling risks.
“Antares Vision simply completed the process with an exceptional solution and the level of interoperability that took the campaign to the next level.”
Diamind is the integrated, intelligent ecosystem of solutions to power products and supply chains, enabling a data-driven and tailored journey to digital innovation.
Connecting physical products with digital identities, Diamind runs at the line, factory, warehouse, enterprise and supply chain levels, and guarantees product quality (inspection systems and equipment), and end-to-end traceability (from raw materials to production, and distribution to the consumer and back) through integrated and cloud data management.
Benefits include:
- Manage traceability and serialisation at the enterprise level
- Comply with global traceability and reporting regulations
- Track raw materials used in manufacturing process
- Optimise recall management and investigations with high-quality, granular data that can be accessed instantaneously
- Mobile Traceability app tracks any batch, movement and handler, and can be used to add critical tracking events and key data elements at any location
“This year, we’re upping the ante and making it even easier to win big with Uno,” said Scott Baird, Hungry Jack’s chief marketing officer.
“There are more chances to win a share of $100,000 in cash prizes, and to keep Aussies on their toes, we’ve introduced six mystery prizes. All prizes must be claimed, but you’ll have to be in it to win it, so skip your plans and head into Hungry Jack’s.”
To play, simply purchase any medium or large burger meal between Tuesday 2 May and Monday 12 June at Hungry Jack’s restaurants, drive-thru, delivery or in app.
Winners can scan and stash free food prizes on the Hungry Jack’s app and redeem them later at front counter or drive-thru.
