Visy has acquired Zenexus, a privately-owned supplier and distributor of moving and storage boxes, major brand hardware and retail products, and which is one of the largest suppliers to Bunnings.

The acquisition, which was for an undisclosed sum, is expected to deliver additional annual revenues of $170 million for Visy.

“The purchase will allow Visy to join our sister company Pratt Industries in the US with a dedicated, retail-facing business unit called Visy Retail Services,” said Anthony Pratt, executive chairman at Visy.

Zenexus owns household names such as FlexStorage, RackIt and Wrap&Move, and sells its products exclusively through Bunnings in Australia and New Zealand, and HomeBase in the UK.

Those brands will remain unchanged, and continue to be sold through Bunnings and HomeBase stores.

Rodney Sutton, managing director of Zenexus, will join Visy Retail Services as general manager, with a focus on integrating Zenexus into Visy. Zenexus’ 160 employees will transition into roles within Visy Retail Services.
