A biodegradable cup suited to both food and beverages of different temperatures will be launched next month.

Made to be used for ice cream, hot drinks, and takeaway food, the Foopak Bio Natura Cup uses a biodegradable aqueous coating as an alternative to a PE lining, ensuring the packaging is easily recyclable and compostable at end-of-life without the need for expensive plastic separation.

The cup joins the range of Foopak products spanning greaseproof papers and boards, cupcake and other bakery liners, as well as heat-sealable, PE and folding boxboards.

The Foopak range is halal-certified to the Indonesian HAS 23000 standard, helping brands to appeal to the growing number of Muslim consumers.
