Amcor has acquired US-based flexible packaging business Deluxe Packages for AU$61 million.

The privately owned business will become part of Amcor's newly formed Flexibles Americas business group.

Deluxe has revenues of close to AU$57 million from its high-performance flexible packaging products for fresh food and snack segments. It operates a manufacturing plant in Yuba City, Northern California.

Amcor CEO Ron Delia said North America was an attractive region for flexible packaging, and the acquisition represented “an excellent opportunity to accelerate profitable growth”.

Deluxe Packages will help firm up Amcor's offering in the specialty food packaging segment, with a combined east and west coast footprint.
