Australia's iconic spirit company, Bundaberg Distilling Co (BDC), has updated the labelling on its flagship Rum Original product, and launched a new high-end product offering, as it sets out to mark its 125th anniversary in November this year.

The label on its best selling Bundaberg Rum Original is to be rolled out to the market from July.

It notes the company's 125-year milestone, and marks the first stage of the distiller's anniversary celebrations.
The company also announced it is launching a connoisseur rum offering, BDC 125th.

Anniversary Rum is being produced by its master craftsmen by blending some of the distillery?s oldest and rarest rums.

“The launch of BDC 125th Anniversary Rum represents the pinnacle of all that the BDC has achieved in 125 years and celebrates the distillery's long-spanning history of expert craftsmanship, ingenious thinking, determination and collaboration,” the company said.

BDC 125th Anniversary Rum will initially be available at its Queensland distillery before wider availability from selected retailers across the country after the company?s birthday on November 22.

It is a limited edition product, with 1888 numbered bottles to be produced in a nod to the company's birth date in 1888.

“As Australia?s favourite rum brand, we want to mark this momentous milestone by giving back to all of the people who have helped take Bundaberg Rum to where it is today,” marketing manager at Bundaberg Rum, Andrew Oughton, said.

“Through BDC 125th Anniversary Rum, we hope to offer Bundy enthusiasts an exceptional liquid, fit to parallel the exceptional passion and loyalty we?ve seen from our customers over the past 125 years.”
