Melbourne-based bioplastics specialist Plantic Technologies has expanded its portfolio of packaging solutions through an exclusive distribution agreement with UK-based packaging films manufacturer LINPAC Packaging.

The company says the LINPAC range of lidding films and top webs will complement its eco Plastic ultra-high barrier sustainable bottom webs and trays and enable it to offer a complete package to customers.

“We are pleased to be able to add LINPAC Packaging films to our portfolio. This allows Plantic to offer our customers in Australia and the Americas the most advanced and complete packaging solutions available,” said Brendan Morris, Plantic chief executive and managing director.

“Working with LINPAC Packaging, Europe’s leading multi-material food packaging company, will enable Plantic to leverage its wide of range of products and customer applications from Europe into the Australian and American markets.”

LINPAC’s range of films will be marketed in Australia under the Plantic Clear Seal trade name. Morris said the films offer a high barrier at reduced gauges and has been designed with enhanced optics, controlled shrink and superior anti-fog properties.

“This will give our customer’s high quality presentation and protection for their products,” he said.

LINPAC, based in Featherstone in the UK, is a multi material technology provider, operating across a network of 16 plants and 23 sales operations, and employing more than 2500 worldwide.
