Bega Cheese has launched Blend 17, a premium limited edition Vegemite made at its Port Melbourne facility.

According to its maker, the new offering has been “crafted for a richer VEGEMITE experience with a bolder finish”.

The 150g jar comes in a gold-lidded cardboard box and sells for RRP $7.00, double that of a traditional jar.

The product was made under the Bega Cheese umbrella.

The company bought the grocery business, which included Kraft spreads and cheeses, off US food giant Mondelēz International.

The name Blend 17 refers to its year of release, according to Bega Cheese.
