Fresh food packaging manufacturer Linpac has added natural-look graphics to its rPET vacuum skin packaging (VSP) Rfresh Evolve trays to increase shelf stand-out for brand owners.

The graphics can be laminated to the rPET trays during the thermoforming process.

Brand owners can now differentiate packs from similar plain plastic and card packs by choosing from grass, kraft paper, wood, or slate-look designs.

The natural-look designs are applied to the Evolve tray, which is typically manufactured using more than 90 per cent post-consumer recyclate.

Offering retailers increased shelf life and flexibility over modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), the VSP trays can be displayed horizontally, vertically, shingled, or hung to show off meat, fish or poultry to its best advantage.

The trays are available in three application styles – normal, protruding and super-protruding.

“The addition of high-quality graphics to the Evolve trays offers greater personalisation options," Ana Fernandez, Linpac's director of innovation, said.

"It also allows retailers to achieve considered on-shelf navigation by using the graphics as a point of difference when creating a tiered display."
