The campaign offers over 50 per cent off BioPak’s Black Paper BioStraws, with $12.50 from every carton sold donated to Rainforest Rescue. According to the company, each purchase funds the planting and maintenance of one native tree. Donations are capped at $20,000 across Australia and New Zealand, with the campaign aiming to plant up to 1600 trees.

Gary Smith, CEO of BioPak, encouraged other businesses to contribute. “We urge our customers to match or beat our donation of $12.50 for every carton sold, an act that can help plant one tree. While seemingly small, the significant impact of each tree has a huge knock-on effect in repairing damaged rainforests, sequestering carbon, and enhancing biodiversity,” Smith said.

BioPak’s Black Paper BioStraws are made from 4-ply FSC Mix Certified Paper and meet European home composting standards (NF T51-800). The individually wrapped straws are delivered in shelf-ready boxes with inbuilt dispensers.

Rainforest Rescue CEO Branden Barber highlighted the importance of business support. “Our work relies on the generous contributions of businesses like BioPak. Their support helps us protect and restore rainforests, making a tangible difference,” Barber said.

Food & Drink Business

Orora has started operations at its newly rebuilt oxygen-fuelled glass furnace in Gawler, South Australia, marking a significant leap in energy efficiency and sustainability for manufacturing glass wine bottles.

Drinks business Suntory Oceania has appointed Jared Chamberlain its New Zealand licensed sales director, as the business prepares to officially launch its $3 billion multi-beverage partnership across the premium spirits and non-alcohol segments.

With the ACCC set to deliver its final report into the supermarkets and pricing practices at the end of the month, and 1H25 earnings expected to be below the forecast $1.65 billion, Woolworths Group says the restructure of its Food leadership and organisational structure will allow a greater focus on the areas that “have the most impact for customers”.
