Visy has launched Visy Tread, an Australian-made temporary floor and surface protection solution crafted entirely from 100 per cent recycled paper.

Visy Tread is the company’s inaugural direct-to-consumer retail offering, manufactured locally at its plants in Reservoir and Coolaroo, Melbourne.

Rod Sutton, Visy’s general manager of Consumer Products, emphasised the product’s dual benefits for both consumers and the environment.

“Visy Tread is a win for tradies and home renovators who want to look after their houses and also care about their environmental impact,” said Sutton.

One of the features of Visy Tread is its versatility, catering to a wide range of applications - from industrial worksites to household tasks. Its easy recyclability through Australian kerbside bins also adds to its appeal, allowing users to dispose of it responsibly.

“By using 100 per cent recycled Australian paper and manufacturing Visy Tread locally, we’re supporting local jobs in Australia and reducing our reliance on single-use plastics,” Sutton added.

The Visy Tread range includes two variants tailored to different needs - Visy Tread Heavy Duty Surface Protection, ideal for long-term construction projects and renovations; and Visy Tread Builders Temporary Surface Protection, suited for smaller renovations, DIY projects, and moving homes.

Both options offer reliable protection against spills, stains and scratches, ensuring surfaces remain pristine during various tasks.

With a longstanding commitment to closing the loop on packaging, remanufacturing and recycling, Visy said it has emerged as a driving force in the Australian recycling landscape.

Visy said its partnerships with councils and customers have played a pivotal role in diverting materials away from landfills, reducing emissions, and preserving natural resources. Visy processes roughly 40 per cent of the country’s kerbside recycling bins.

Beyond its core focus on packaging and recycling, Visy provides integrated solutions for logistics, packaging supplies, and point-of-sales displays.

According to Visy, as it continues to innovate and expand its offerings, Visy Tread represents a “significant step towards creating a more sustainable future while meeting the needs of consumers and the environment alike”.
