Dry moulded fibre innovator PulPac has appointed Marcus Palm, an active company Board member since 2019, as its new vice-president.
Palm now steps into a strategic leadership role and will bring his extensive experience in legal affairs, licensing and business strategy.
Palm joins PulPac from Välinge Innovation, where he served as chief legal officer. During his tenure, he played a vital role in shaping legal strategies, protecting intellectual property, and contributing to the company’s growth and innovation within the flooring industry.
For these achievements, he was previously awarded the prize as Sweden’s best company lawyer. His expertise in managing complex legal frameworks and his deep understanding of innovation-driven businesses make him well-suited to lead PulPac’s strategic initiatives as the company continues its global expansion.
"Marcus has been an integral part of PulPac’s journey as a Board member, and we are thrilled to have him take on a more hands-on role as vice-president," said Linus Larsson Green, CEO of PulPac.
"His strategic mindset and deep licensing knowledge will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and drive the future of sustainable packaging."
In his new role as vice-president, Palm will focus on strategic business development, ensuring PulPac maintains its competitive edge, while advancing its position as a leader in sustainable packaging solutions.
His extensive industry knowledge and ability to align legal frameworks with strategic business objectives will be crucial as PulPac continues to scale its dry moulded fibre technology worldwide.
“I am committed to the potential of dry moulded fibre technology and convinced it can revolutionise the packaging industry,” Palm added.
“My experience with similar business models has shown me how protected and strategically developed innovation can drive industry change. I look forward to working closely with the team to further establish PulPac as a leader in sustainable packaging innovation."
Palm’s appointment is effective immediately. He will be based at PulPac’s headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Recently, PulPac joined forces with PA Consulting to launch a new initiative called The Bottle Collective, which will create a fibre bottle alternative aimed at minimising the use of single-use plastic in food, drink, consumer health and FMCG industries. It has also been granted three new patents from the US Patent and Trademark Office for its dry moulded fibre technology.
Other notable recent partnerships include a cross-industry investment from Amcor to support PulPac's global commercialisation ambitions; its dry moulded fibre technology being adopted by global food service packaging manufacturer, Matrix Pack, for its hot and cold drink lids; and becoming a new member of print and paper advocacy group Two Sides, a not-for-profit global initiative promoting the sustainable attributes of print, paper and paper packaging.
Also, in a breakthrough for scaling up dry moulded fibre packaging, PulPac launched a new machine platform, the PulPac Scala, which is based on injection moulding, a technology associated with plastic conversion, and combined it with the company’s new Mill-to-Web fibre unit.
